With college classes starting up again soon I would like to remind SCIT Higher Ed students to make sure their information is up to date with the Higher Ed office and to turn in your Fall 2021 class schedules so we can process your scholarship. If you need any paperwork sent to you feel free to get ahold of me and I can get it to you.
The deadline for the Fall semester is October 15th, 2021 at 5 pm.

SCA Open House: Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm


Do you have or know a high school student that would like or could use some extra help preparing for college! The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College is offering their new Pathway program starting Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. There will be two 40 minute sessions with a 10 minute break in between. The flyer, schedule, and application are attached. Registration is currently open and closes at 5 pm on August 6, 2021.
Requirements: Underrepresented, first-generation, or low-income, a Junior or Senior, (2021-22 school year), and participant must attend and participate in all sessions. It is being offered in-person and virtually. Seniors that finish the program and register for at least 3 credits for the next semester at SCTC will receive a $300.00 incentive.
The program is designed to help students prepare for college. They will have the opportunity to enhance their academic skills, gain career information, and learn some Anishinaabemowin (Native American language) and traditions.

On October 5th-7th, 2021 Dominion Energy is hosting the third annual Diversity Student Conference for current college freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Despite the challenges that 2020 brought for many, we are proud to share last year's conference virtually hosted 125 students from 26 states and Puerto Rico. Our conference guests:
• Represented 54 different undergraduate majors
• Hailed from 72 different Colleges & Universities, including 17 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and 6 Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs)
• 71% of attendees received an offer for a paid Summer 2021 internship
• 81% of internship offers were accepted
The virtual conference is a great opportunity for women and minority students to learn more about Dominion Energy, network with business leaders, hiring managers, employees and current interns. Most importantly, attendees are guaranteed the opportunity to interview for a paid full-time Summer 2022 internship with Dominion Energy, a Fortune 200 company.
Applicants are required to be a current freshman, sophomore or junior with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The application is due August 31st.
